Locations Foundation and Hawaii 3Rs Team Up to Beautify Nu’uanu Elementary School

Our Locations Foundation volunteers aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty—especially when it comes to making Hawaii’s public schools more colorful, tidy and inviting for keiki. Bright and early on a sunny Saturday in April, Foundation volunteers gathered in Nu’uanu, ready to get to work.

Brushes and rollers in hand, Locations agents and employees got to work, to giving the walls of Nu’uanu Elementary School a fresh coat of paint. Together with local nonprofit Hawaii 3Rs, volunteers freshened up curbs in the school’s parking lot and corridors with a rainbow of vibrant paint colors.

Supporting education in communities across Hawaii is one of the four pillars of the Locations Foundation, so teaming up with Hawaii 3Rs, whose mission is: “Repairing, Remodeling and Restoring Our Schools,” was a natural fit.

“We hope that this beautification project not only serves to improve the physical appearance of Nu’uanu Elementary, but that it also brings a renewed sense of pride to students and faculty,” said Foundation President and Locations Partner Kristin Mukai. “By partnering with local organizations like Hawaii 3Rs, we’re helping to foster an engaging learning environment for our youngest citizens.”

The Locations Foundation and Hawaii 3Rs have previously partnered to refresh multiple school across the island.
