Locations Foundation Treats Keiki Healing from Grief and Trauma to a Morning in Nature
On a warm Saturday morning in November, Locations Foundation volunteers partnered with the Hawaii Nature Center to provide children from Kids Hurt Too Hawaii with an opportunity to experience the joy of nature in a beautiful, peaceful setting. Located in the Makiki Heights neighborhood, the Hawaii Nature Center’s mission is to instill an appreciation and understanding of Hawaii’s natural environment in children through hands-on learning.
With the guidance of Center staff, Foundation volunteers Realtors Devin Minardi, Dawn Horn and Wade Uehara, along with home loan consultant Del Brown of Hawaii Mortgage Group, helped the children to explore the area’s streams and sprawling trails. Using nets, keiki caught fish, shrimp and other creatures from the streams and then placed them into containers for observation. The children also collected various items from the trails to create terrariums.
“Hawaii Nature Center’s dedication to creating engaging and enjoyable activities truly shines through,” said Minardi, who also serves on the Foundation’s advisory board. “It was fantastic to witness the kids thoroughly enjoying themselves, and it was heartwarming to see parents joining in on the fun, too!”
The Foundation has long supported Kids Hurt Too, and volunteers enjoyed the opportunity to interact with the organization’s youth in a new setting.

Kids Hurt Too Hawaii offers a free and safe place for children and youth experiencing grief and trauma, as well as support for their caregivers. The organization also provides support groups, crisis management and mentoring to children who have lost one or both parents.
Locations Foundation Treats Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii Families to a Special Screening of Toy Story 5
On June 20, 2026, the Locations Foundation welcomed 130 children, mentors, and chaperones from Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii (BBBS Hawaii) to a private screening of "Toy Story 5" at Consolidated Theatres Kapolei. The annual Movie Day event brought together local children and their families for an afternoon filled with fun, laughter, and community connection.
Locations Foundation Celebrates Special Olympics Hawaii Athletes at Victory Dance
On Saturday, June 6, 2026, the spirit of celebration filled the University of Hawaii Dance Studios as athletes from across the state gathered for the Special Olympics Hawaii Athlete Victory Dance, part of the 56th Annual State Summer Games.
Locations Foundation Volunteers Support Community Cleanup in Kakaʻako
On Saturday, April 25, 29 volunteers from across the Locations family participated in the Mālama ʻĀina Community Cleanup in Kakaʻako, joining neighbors and community partners in a shared effort to care for the neighborhood. In about one hour, volunteers worked together to clean approximately 10 blocks across the Kakaʻako neighborhood of Honolulu — from Ala Moana Boulevard to Halekauwila Street — helping keep public spaces clean and welcoming.
Locations Foundation Delivers Holiday Gifts to Local Residents in Need
In December 2025, the Locations Foundation was honored to support three local organizations doing vital work for our community: The Salvation Army Kauluwela Corps, Kahauiki Village and RYSE Hawaii. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and the dedication of our volunteers, we were able to deliver extra holiday joy to local residents in low-income communities.
