February is American Heart Month, and the Locations Foundation was proud to support Ka’iulani Elementary School’s American Heart Association of Hawaii Kids Heart Challenge day. This special event encouraged students to stay active, have fun and learn the importance of heart health through engaging activities.
Foundation volunteers Wade Uehara, Crystal Chang and Jay Miller, helped to facilitate a lively game of “Mingle Mingle” (similar to musical chairs) with students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Held on the school’s outdoor basketball court, the game kept the keiki moving while also promoting teamwork and quick thinking. Each grade had the opportunity to play two full rounds, and the energy and excitement were contagious.
“It was a fantastic day of fun and movement, and we were thrilled to see the students so engaged and enthusiastic,” said Jay.
A big mahalo to our wonderful volunteers for making this event a success and to Ka’iulani Elementary for hosting such an inspiring initiative. We look forward to supporting more events that promote health, wellness and community spirit!
