Locations Foundation Blood Drive 2024: A Life-Saving Success!

This Halloween, the Locations Foundation proudly hosted its annual blood drive in partnership with the Blood Bank of Hawaii. Dressed in Halloween costumes and united by a spirit of giving, Locations agents and employees turned out to donate blood and to help save lives across Hawaii.

2024 Blood Drive Results

More than 40 agents and employees came together to donate blood on October 31, 2024. Together, they donated enough blood to save up to 102 lives! We’re thrilled that 11 of our donors were first-timers, as fresh blood donors are critical to maintaining a steady supply for the community.

This year, we also had three MAX Red donors (red blood cells only) and one MAX Plasma donor (plasma only). These special donation types take more time to collect, but allow donors to make an even greater impact by donating more amounts of just one part of their blood, depending on their blood type.

Dressed to Donate: A Festive Touch to Saving Lives

In true Locations Foundation style, our blood drive was fun, too! Many of our agents and employees wore creative Halloween costumes, adding a festive touch to this event. From favorite characters to spooky creatures, our donors brought the Halloween spirit, making it a memorable day for all. Donors also enjoyed sweet treats and small gifts from the Locations Foundation to thank them for their generosity.

How Donated Blood Saves Lives

Donated blood goes to local people experiencing trauma, heart surgery or cancer treatment. It’s also needed for transplant recipients, premature babies and burn victims, as well as people with chronic illnesses, bleeding disorders or anemia.

There is a crucial need for blood donations in Hawaii, as only two percent of people donate blood. If you’re feeling inspired by the Locations Foundation’s blood drive, consider donating blood yourself. Find more information about donating blood at the Blood Bank of Hawaii’s website.
